Painting Concrete
Whether you are looking to paint your building’s concrete walls, parking areas, crosswalks, or loading docks, here’s what you need to know to get the best results.
In general, there are two types of concrete paint available to protect the surface and give your concrete an update:
Epoxy Paint - Don’t confuse acrylic latex concrete paint with epoxy coatings. Epoxy paints are typically two-component resin-based systems that chemically bond with the concrete. Epoxy coatings are more difficult to apply but they often are more durable and wear-resistant making them good for high traffic areas.

Acrylic Latex Concrete Paint: External and internal wall surfaces including concrete, stucco, and bricks can be painted with acrylic latex paint. It is resistant to peeling, cracking, and flaking due to its flexible nature, which helps to keep external surfaces looking good for a long period of time despite being exposed to the elements. The color with these paints is also long-lasting so do not quickly fade. The paint will adhere better if you initially clean the surface thoroughly. For exterior concrete block walls we recommend Sherwin Williams Conflex XL. This is a water proofing coating designed for masonry and concrete surfaces.
